Laughter and Crying
There are many reasons we laugh and cry, and sometimes both at the same time!
Did you know that both Laughter and Tears are the body’s natural pressure release valve?
Often in treatment I have clients who will suddenly burst out laughing and then there have been others that might gently shed a tear. I have a dear colleague that screams with laughter and kicks her legs when I do a Lymphatic Drainage Protocol with SCENAR on her! Her laughter is delightful and infectious, and soon I am barely able to keep the SCENAR straight as I’m laughing so hard with her! She takes a lot on energetically from her clients, friends and family, and so through laughter the pressure build up is relieved.
Both Laughter and Tears are great in my book, as I know the body is releasing some of the built up pressure within. It shows that the body is working appropriately to help establish homeostasis and equilibrium, so down the track that pent up pressure doesn’t develop into a full blown dysfunction!
So lighten up, have a good laugh or watch a touching heart felt movie and shed a tear. You are doing it for your greater health!
I love this ad – enjoy a bit of a laugh! ‘Bugger’ is an Australian/New Zealand expression for – whoops, uh-oh!
Physiologically laughter and crying increase immunity and release serotonin and endorphins – the “feel-good” hormones. Practitioners that work with chakras see these emotional releases dissolving energy blocks.
Other benefits of laughter, include include increased oxygen intake, better circulation and lower blood pressure, and higher levels of disease-fighting natural killer cells, as well as a more positive state of mind. Crying psychologically, can relieve emotional stress and boost a positive mood.
